Miami Spirit manicure

Been awhile I'm back:). Slowly getting things settled and back to blogging.

Today I have a budget friendly manicure. I buy nail polish for my daughter at Walmart or the drug store often. She does use my polished but she likes to have her own collection and these polishes are inexpensive. They are also very nice, someone like myself who paints their nails often sometimes for me I like the colors and just have to get them:).

Today I started with Butter London nail foundation. I like how it evens out my nail and also helps not yellow my real nails. I followed that with Wet n Wild Fergie collection, Miami Spirit. I love anything teal or blue and this color is amazing:). I really don't like the brush that is my main issue with this brand. The brush is thick and I have thin nails and fingers makes it hard to stay on the nail. I did good and at first the polish looked kind of dull almost flat but my Out The Door top coat made them shine:).

I used Milani 582 Teal glitter for the accent finger. It matches nice and love Milani brand for my less expensive brand. Milani polish never lets me down. When holo polish was becoming big again I got a bunch by Milani and actually preferred them over the more expensive brands. The Miami Spirit polish has a shimmer to it that looks really nice once you apply the top coat.

Enjoy the photos and please share with me some of your favorite drug store or inexpensive brands you enjoy:).

Orly and Color Club Swatches

I decided to try out my deals from TJ Maxx yesterday. Didn't have a lot of time to prep and polish so just swatched a few for tonight then after trying out five colors I decided to go with Material Girl Phantom. I will feature photos of that and details in next post.

Yesterday I got a mini four pack of Color Club polishes for $3.99 I believe threw out the box. I swatched two they don't have names or numbers which is odd I grabbed box and they are the In True Fashion collection and they were $4.99. No names still. The one on my thumb looks like a iridescent gold/green color. On my nail it looked gold with a slight green tone when I moved it around. The other color I sampled was a rust metallic color which was my favorite of the two. I have two other colors a dark blue and a purple, green iridescent color almost like Hard Candy, Beetle. I will sample those when my nails chip.

Then last up was the two Orly colors. I got Emberstone and Stone Cold. Both gorgeous. I love the glitter look and they both applied very nice. Emberstone looks orange in the bottle but on my nails had a pink look to it but lately I been wondering if I'm a little color blind lol. Things never seem to be what they appear lol.

I will post more photos of my full manicure with Material girl Phantom. That is on my ring finger and I loves it that I decided to go with that color. The Orly polishes were $3.99 a bottle at TJ Maxx. I rarely buy anything full price so not sure how much they are normally I believe about $8-9 a bottle depending on where you shop.

Enjoy the photos and have a wonderful weekend. Have lots of clothing deals and steals. Got shoes, a purse, a few dresses then a lot of cute sweater tops and long sleeve tops for me and my daughters along with jeans for my little one and all at amazing low prices. My favorite part of living in south Florida is that this time of year they clearance out shorts, tanks, sandals and summer clothes which we live in pretty much year round unless we have a cool front. I hear we have one coming behind this storm. Can't wait for sweaters, scarves and boots! Yay.

Polish and more polish

Figured I would squeeze in a quick blog. I have to check out the raffle copter cause my first contest ends officially today. Sunday. Yay! I can't wait to see who won what:). Please remember when entering my contests you must follow my blog that is the only have to thing required. Lol that was worded weird but anyways everything else is optional but for the main requirement you must follow my blog.

Tonight my oldest daughter, she will be 13 in Nov had a party for a fries of hers. It was a 13 th birthday party that was more like a sweet 16. She had the gorgeous dress and I painted her nails then did a pedicure. Also I took her to my hair lady to get her hair an makeup done. She looked gorgeous, almost a little to cute, looked like she was 16 or older. Mama isn't ready lol I want them to stay little forever. That isn't happening though she is getting big so fast and I could not be prouder of her. She is a cheerleader, straight a's, in algebra getting highschool credits and in gifted classes since she was in second grade. She takes this aerobics class and busts her little butt she is super athletic. She plays basketball too and loves to do sports and anything fitness involved. Amazing little gift that I have been blessed with. My little one is something else, super sweet and a total momma's girl my kids are my life. Best thing ever to happen to me and my best creation ever:).

I was up late last night with my horrible insomnia so was going through my polish. I realized how bad my nail polish addiction is it is almost as bad as my shoes, glasses, purses, belts and accessories lol. Okay I have a lot of everything. Even craft stuff, baking stuff, party decor and candle stuff. I am glad that I am a neat freak cause I keep everything pretty organized and it all has a place:).

I am posting a few pics of polishes and then my mani for the weekend, Paige's Julep Claire Mani and some swatching I did Thursday night;). My polish is Zoya Mimi I believe I will double check it is a purple with gold and iridescent sparkles not really like glitter cause it comes off easy thank God:). Gorgeous on. Check them out and I will post tomorrow my amazing eBay victoria secret purchases, I got some terry and velour pants with bling from victoria secret pink line that retail for over $49-69 each for $19-26 each:) love them. I love victoria secret pants for sleepin and everyday stay at home mom wear lol. Next to juicy couture they are my absolute favorite. I also have some amazing Home Goods and Kirklands finds that I got for a interior design job and for my own home, updating some rooms and always keeping my house nice:). Have a great weekend.

Dior Purple Revolution

This week I got a bunch of nail polish in the mail or some goodies from a friend that owns a salon up north. One of the polishes was a Dior amazing polish called Purple Revolution. I love black and for many years I was in a vamp phase where all I wore was black dark vamp red or colors that were so dark and gothic. It is funny cause after that phase I went into a natural phase of french and American manicures on my toes and lighter colors if I did polish my nails. At the time I had a new baby and no time to paint them or they would get ruined.

I tried this color along with many other which I believe I posted the other day when I got the polishes and did a nail haul post to show off my new pride I added to my collection. I am on a no buy for a month till new winter colors come out. I am saving for Christmas and vacation plus making crafts. I also bought all the supplies to make a nail polish rack/shelf to display them all on and swore till it is done no more nail polish. I still have two orders due by mail but once they come other then my julep box and nail buddy colors I won't be getting anything new. Honestly after the huge fall stock up I have so many new colors I should have plenty to keep me busy till November lol.

Here are my pics of Dior Purple Revolution and honestly photos do this color no justice. It looks black in pictures but is honestly a nice rich dark shade of purple. One of my new top ten of favorite colors. Enjoy:)

Adventures in color samples...

Got a load of new colors this week:). Can't wait to try them all. Also heading to Orlando to hit Disney, will be hitting the outlet malls on Saturday so hope to scoop up some more new colors.

Saturday my Essie Matte about you will be at the local beauty supply, every shop is sold out or doesn't carry it but they found one bottle at their other location and the manager is going to pick it up tomorrow for me:)! Can't wait have a lot of ideas.

Also hit eBay, ordered a few indie polishes, a five piece set of nail dotting tools, nail tape, nail brushes, and some holo silver top coat to give that holographic look to my other polishes. I figure why buy a bunch of matte and holo polishes when I can just use a top coat:). Save me money plus I love making my own creations.

Tonight my oldest daughter wanted to paint her nails. I got some Essie polishes for 2.99 and 3.99 at Marshall's so she tried out the Brazilian orange color. I also got my mini sampler polishes I won from serum no 5 so tried a couple colors on each nail and china glaze lubu heels, which I love:)!

I also got a bottle of Out the Door top coat cause I have been told it works good so I used that as the top coat. I have seche but it usually shrinks and then is super thick so scratches easily. My other favorite is Sally Hansen insta dry clear top coat. I use Poshe too which is very good also when it comes to a quick dry. The out the door dried super fast, which is my top priority then it is very nice shine and finish. Let's see how long it lasts cause my daughter plays basketball, cheers and takes art class, her nails chip easy.

Here are some photos when I get to my laptop I will label each one to let you know the colors and combos I used. Right now using my phone hard to label photos.

Enjoy and can't wait to share my finds from Orlando and I have some cakes, cupcakes and Oreo Mickey pops I made that I will be posting on my baking blog. Tomorrow will be in the Magic Kingdom with Mickey and friends to celebrate my baby girls birthday! Have a great weekend an happy shopping and blogging:)

Cinderella influenced polish for Disney

Going to Disney for my baby girl's 5th birthday been dying to use julep polish cause I have never used. Went with the gorgeous blue, Claire then wanted to give that shimmer that I think of with Cinderella a peach/pink fairy looking dust:) Used Deborah Lippmann Oh the Pretty things.

Forgot to use lotion or cuticle oil so still need to clean the polish mess I made so please excuse just wanted to post before I get busy packing and forget.

Did two coats of Julep Claire, then one coat of Deborah Lippmann polish then topped with Sally Hansen insta dry top coat. Love it:)! Photos don't capture the beauty of this color combo I tried now need to go clean the cuticles and see if I get better photos.

Have some amazing nail mail coming ordered a lot of new colors, indie polishes, won a mini indie set from serum no 5 and got new top coat to try that a friend recommended to me:).

I have to say I love the julep colors verdict is out need to see how long they last:). The color is rich the formula is creamy goes on super smooth. No complaints as of now. I will update. My jelly I did last night peeled don't k ow if I didn't let the coats dry long enough between coats, or if from to many layers or if it's the polish. My daughter has the color on her toes is lasting. I removed it and tried the Zoya Frida jelly didn't care for the color on me, it's a weird green blue almost looks like algae lol. It peeled too so either I had a bad night or I need to try some different techniques lol.

Happy shopping and painting, tomorrow going to use my gift cards from birthday so will be posting some deals and finds I'm sure lol.

Jelly sandwich manicure

Today I was home with my little one who is sick again:(. Going to school made her get the horrible cold again just this time it seems worse. Hopefully she will heal quick cause her birthday is this Sunday.

I decided cause a girlfriend of mine did a jelly sandwich on her nails and sent me photos so I have been wanting to do this, did a sample on fake nail this weekend but had free polish so was waiting. I used china glaze ride the waves a beautiful bright blue. I applied a base coat, then two thin coats of ride the wives. Then I made my own middle coat. Wanted something with glitter and small hex flakes then some small sparkles so I used my dollar tree stars, small hexs and then disco ball silver glitter coat. Waited forever for that to dry.

After a long drying period I applied a no even coat of ride the waves and let dry again. Topped off with clear coat then there it is my jelly sandwich. Look forward to doing more like this and interested to see how long before the sparkles and hexs peel off cause being a mom of two I am always chopping my nails doing lots of interesting tasks lol.

Here are my photos. I am hopefully going to Disney this weekend and have some cute ideas using my Cinderella looking julep blue with a pink shimmer over top. My princess manicure. Stay tuned. Also want to do a post on birthday freebies with links to the sites cause I got lots of free food, beauty products and coupons for my birthday yesterday. What girl doesn't love free goodies:). Yay:) Have a great evening and enjoy the photos please excuse my cuticles been cleaning all day and didn't have time to clean them up:(.
