My week of ootd posts

My Week of Fashion OOTD posts...

Here are some of my #ootd posts from IG and Twitter.

I found these cute tunic babydoll dresses last fall and ordered a tan one, it arrived damaged so the owner of the eBay shop was kind enough to let me keep the damage one, which I sewed the seam that was undone, and she sent me this one to replace for free.  Love when a store has amazing customer service and goes above everything to make sure their customer is satisfied.  I could not find an exact match but below found a close one in navy.  If you search Umgee Babydoll Tunic lots of styles will pop up and all different prices.

Similar design in Navy

I happened to get very lucky one day when walking the shopping plaza by my house and one of the little boutiques was having a sidewalk sale, I found my white crochet and fringe detail vest marked down for $7.99.  I tried to find a good bargain deal but had a hard time even finding this style vest.  Right now the fringe all over vests are trending, which I ordered one while searching I found for under $25 on eBay.  I saw they were trending and selling for over $35 up to $50 so grabbed one that was $22 with shipping.  Love it.

My sandals are knee high MIA black gladiators.  I had a gift certificate I won for PacSun so I scooped up two pairs of these and some feather print Converse, along with a few cute graphic tees and tanks.  I found links for the same sandals below in both brown and black.  I have a similar dress to the one above in tan and brown with a red, blue multi colored Navajo style print on the front chest area that look amazing with the brown sandals or brown boots.

My necklace I was able to find almost the exact same one at Maurices.com below

Last up my bracelet, purchased from my local Forever 21 store.  As you know their stock sells out fast and is always changing.  I could not find the same exact one, mine is a stretchy silver turkish looking bracelet with little bells on the outside.  I found this pretty etched silver bangle

My wrist party is Alex and Ani bangles, I have a retired feather bangle, the charm feather, buddha charm, monopoly dog, and pineapple charm.  I also am wearing one of my PuraVida Bracelets for a splash of color.  Be sure to check out PuraVida and use my code MelissaSep10 for a discount when checking out.  They are a great company donating money to many charities and proceeds from the sales of all the items helps employ local Costa Rican Artisans.

More Karma Less Drama tee by LeMotto.  Black and white pencil skirt from Forever 21, statement necklace for Walmart for $5, Rock & Republic heels ( best heels ever so comfortable), Alex and Ani charm bangle and heart beaded stretch bracelet, mixed with some gold plain bangles and my Juicy Couture Locket and Key bracelet that was a gift from my mom.

My gorgeous necklace is a pink agate slice from Adam Rabbit Jewelry on Etsy.  She had a $10 mystery necklace sale where you would receive a mystery necklace valued up to $30.  I have many pieces by her and love them all, this one is no exception it is beautiful.  She does not stock this exact same necklace in her shop but one of my favorite stores does have the same stone but with gold chain

My tee shirt was a special order from Girl Monday Apparel on Etsy.  They have lots of fun and humorous sayings on many styles of tees and tanks, we all know I love graphic tees and tanks.  I have found so many amazing shops that I love.

My BillaBong Women's tank is sold out at Pacsun.com, I did find them in stock in all sizes below

My jeans are Jcrew Boyfriend jeans and I have several pairs, they are one of favorite fit and style jeans I own, the distressing is just right and they fit amazing.  Also they are made of the softest denim. I do not put these in the dryer, they are washed on delicate or my steam cleaning setting then hung to dry.  Grab them while they still have some left.  I got them on sale every time and just grabbed a last pair before they are all gone.  Size down one size for good fit.

Use my code MelissaSep10 for 25% discount on all PuraVida orders

I'm a sweet disaster tank, feather kimono with pom pom trim, Hollister boyfriend jeans and Lacey Ryan necklace. Details below for items.

My tee is from Pony Show in Nashville, they have an Etsy store and I have to say all their graphic tees and tanks rock.  Love this store and love all their other vintage items also.  Great find for sure.

or some that have not read this in my previous posts, I am a Silver Jeans Co Ambassador and love this brand.  My first pair of jeans they sent me when becoming an ambassador for their brand we're these amazing Boyfriends jeans I had wanted to order for a few months.  I have over 20 pairs of Silver Jeans and the only style I didn't own were the boyfriend style.  These are now one of my favorite go to pairs of jeans whether cropped or worn ankle length.  I love them with everything I wear them with.  Check the out in the link below.

My purse is my everyday bag, I got it from the Christmas in July 50% off sale at Bohemian Vibe Boutique.  It is currently sold out and I am looking for others that are comparable.  They did have a brown in stock if you want to check the link below.  It is an amazing bag and I get compliments every day, people always think it was way more expensive.  I paid $30 for it retails for $60, best $30 I ever spent lol.  I have used it daily unless I need a brown bag or something smaller.  It comes with a wristlet style pouch that is attached to one of the straps, then has fringe detail on the sides love love love.

Above tee is also from Pony Show same link as above...

My amazing shoes from Sophie May Shop in Utah.

Gypsy soul floral tee and Not all who wander tee in blue from Boho Circus.  You can find both tees at

Gypsy Soul tee by Boho Circus with a Lace kimono from PacSun, Gunne vintage 70's floral skirt and Turkish coin necklace I got off Ebay for under $10.

Above link for the Gypsy Soul tee is for a Unisex Medium please be sure to get your correct size.

My kimono is sold out couldn't find but you can find many styles similar on eBay.

I am the queen of finding items that are really on trend or hot selling items for less.  I saw these necklaces two years ago in a high end catalog for $75-95 and matching bracelet was $50-65.  I got the necklace and bracelet for $10 with shipping.  They are made very well, the material is thick and I have owned my necklace for over a year and worn it many times nothing has broken or happened.  My bracelet I have had a couple months less than the necklace and same thing both are solid well made pieces, very heavy.  Love them and can't imagine anyone who paid the high end price because these really look identical.

Not all who wander tee, Boho Circus

Also available in other sizes and colors, this link is for the unisex Medium.

Necklace is from one of my favorite Etsy Jewelry shops, Fawning in love.  It was a one time item but she does have similar items and lots of other great pieces everyone should check out.  Make sure to pass by her shop and show some love.

Hope you enjoyed my week of fashion and hope the links help you find the items I wore that you like, trying to make it easier for everyone who reads the blog.

Tex-Mex, Cold Beer & Live Music...

TEX-MEX COLD BEER & LIVE MUSIC...
Flannel, Tee, Jeans & Boots

Who doesn't love a weekend music festival or concert. I know I love all types of live music, mix in some Tex-Mex, cold beer and on a Saturday a little college football, that is a perfect day for me. This weekend had a little country concert festival with some amazing chili and food trucks with so many choices of food. Dressing for this event was a breeze with my awesome graphic tee by A Rosy Outlook. One of my favorite Etsy shop finds and loving their sister store Boho Circus. Did a recent blog feature on these two stores last month. These family owned gems have some of the coolest graphic tees from bohemian, gypsy style to Texas themed apparel. They also sell home decor, goods and accessories.

My favorite part of fall fashion is layering and boots.  I love to layer pieces and accessories, then who doesn't love the chance to break out their boots.  Where I live it is usually in the 90's year round but we do get the occasional temperature drop and as soon as we do I break out the layers, scarves and boots.

I picked up this flannel at Target the other day.  It is made by Merona and has a checkered almost buffalo plaid print on the inside and when you fold over the sleeves.  Link to purchase is below.

Shopping:

My jeans are from American Eagle, I got them at their outlet store a while back and they are from their blue label line.  I know they are skinny jeans and found a pair similar.

The boots were from Target last year, I got them on clearance at the end of the season for $12-15.  You can find similar pairs at Target this year.

My flannel is from Target by Merona.

My tee shirt is by A Rosy Outlook.  You can get it in a tee or tank.

Here's to music festival and carnival season approaching.  Enjoying live music, cold beers, football and some good ole Tex-Mex.  Have a fabulous week everyone.

What I wore update for last week

Week of #ootd posts

Below are my weekly roundup of ootd posts from Instagram. I still need to link my Instagram account to my blog but working on finishing the editing of old posts to fix typos and adding links I haven't had a chance. For now here is lasts weeks fashion posts. Some I shared on some other posts this week so I will do my best to leave those out. Hope you enjoy. Happy weekend. Xoxo

Sunday funday is always my favorite day of the week next to Friday. I love weekends but who doesn't lol. Shorts are from Target and tee was from Bealls Florida.

On the top I am wearing a BBF, Save the sharks tank.

Hella Good tank by Pam & Gela paired with Target gray and white marbled joggers. Got this tank off eBay for $20 was excited to add it to my collection of graphic tees and tanks, along with my Pam & Gela top collection. Love their designs.

Had Dr. Appointments so always like to be comfy. Decided to wear a cotton gray maxi skirt from Marshall's, with a basic black tank and a striped grey and black tank over it. Horn necklace is by Lacey Ryan and you can find it at Maurices.com. Bracelets are silver bangle Alex and Ani charm bracelets.

My arm candy that day, Alex and Ani. Also have on one of my PuraVida bracelets, you can use my promo code MelissaSep10 for 25% off your order.

A night out in this sexy little fringe maxi I got on eBay for under $15. Paired it with Turkish bohemian inspired pieces I also got off eBay, the necklace was under $10.

My bracelet is from Forever 21 and the hand bracelet is by Lacey Ryan.  The feather ring on my middle finger was a hand made artisan bracelet from Rockville in Jacksonville back in April and pointer finger ring is from Bohemian Vibe Boutique.

My Free Spirit tank is by Bohocircus, paired with a floral kimono vest with fringe from Target, JCrew boyfriend jeans, Bohemian Vibe Boutique ring and fringe tote, and Adam Rabbit raw citrine necklace.

Comfy clothes for relaxing on a raining day. Distressed boyfriend jeans by JCrew and Hollister boyfriend cardigan. Been on doctors orders to take it easy so comfort has been my main fashion focus.

Striped vneck tee from Kohls, paired with a long black ecote skirt from Urban Outfitters, my necklace is a Indian made piece from Cherokee, NC.

Be Local tee from a shop on eBay, have to get the name off my Instagram, saw this on my feed and had to have it because I love cattle skulls. Paired it with an army green military jacket that has a removable fur collar which I don't have on here too hot in Florida. Jacket is from American Eagle many years ago.

Aztec print dress from Kohls paired with a knit cream long vest from Maurices. Paired with Adam rabbit citrine necklace and leather cuff from Disney.

Bohemian definition tank top by Boho Circus. Lace kimono from Pacsun and my skirt that I have had on major repeat from Forever 21. The belt is a beaded piece with a wood clasp, sent to me by one of my readers.  The necklaces are a feather gold charm necklace which was part of a set from Forever 21 and then you have the longer necklace from Buckle.  It is a long double chain with a crescent moon, then a circle with a silver stone, arrowhead and two quartz style crystals that dangle. My leather cuff is a personalized cuff with my kid's names, is a souvenior from Disney.

The Easy Rider raglan by Spell Byron was just the right tee for a rainy dreary day on bed rest. Paired with their jogger style pants, I was super comfortable and warm. This tee is so soft and light weight, I love these types of tees. Who doesn't love a soft tee shirt?

Last up my post from today, to get me in the fall and Halloween decorating spirit. Wearing a cream plain basic tank and Buckle brand distressed boyfriend shorts with this gorgeous coral and orange ombré, ecote poncho from Urban Outfitters. Accesorized it with some Lacey Ryan beaded bracelets and my leather cuff from Disney, then layered up some of my favorite necklaces, including a babe charm, (my hubby always calls me babe or wifey), my rhinestone feather pendant and a long raw citrine necklace made by Adam Rabbit Jewelry on Etsy.

Hope you enjoyed my weekly ootd posts from my Instagram account and have a great weekend. XOXO ❤️✌️

✨A Rosy Outlook & Boho Circus

BLOG FEATURED DESIGNER/BOUTIQUE

A Rosy Outlook & Boho Circus

Hello everyone, I am super excited about this blog feature. A few months ago I came across a shop called BohoCircus on Etsy. You all know I love graphic tees and tanks, as well as bohemian fashion and decor. I had searched Etsy for some bohemian graphic tees and found their site. I placed an order for my first tank from them, the Bohemian muscle tank pictured below and featured a few times here as well as on my social media ootd or tee posts. After having a couple convos on Etsy about my trip to Texas we had planned, as well as just discussing similar interests and hobbies, I had the honor of getting to know these ladies. I then knew I really wanted to do my first blog feature since revamping my blog on them and their family owned sites, A Rosy Outlook and Boho Circus. I hope you enjoy their story and inspirations as much as I did. It reminded me so much of my own story in so many ways and I really am very fond of these kindred, free spirited, creative souls, I was lucky to have crossed paths with. Not only have I gotten to know them but also now have some killer graphic tees and tanks to add to my collection.

Make sure to read on because below I have an exclusive promo code they created for my readers to use for 10% off your purchase. Thank you so much to Bren and Chyna for allowing me to do this feature, for sharing you're amazing story and inspiration, and for the promo code for my readers to use. Means so much. Xoxo ✌️❤️

Boho Circus & A Rosy Outlook

Bren & Chyna Mason

Their Story:

Three Generations of Gypsies Creating Good Stuff Daily in the Texas Hill Country.

Bren grew up in the back of her family's Volkswagen van listening to Fleetwood Mac and the interesting tales of the hippie hitchhikers who sat in the front seat.  Captivated by the flowers in their hair, she leaned into their every word, and wished she were old enough to escape with them into the wanderlust forests of Big Sur, California.

Born to free-spirited artists, Bren helped her mother paint pottery, sew peasant clothing and sell their macrame jewelry at craft fairs.  She helped her dad refurbish antique automobiles, jukeboxes, and flea market finds.  Believing that " homes are for free expression rather than good impression," Bren encouraged her daughters to express their imaginations. The sisters' artwork began on the walls and furniture, and eventually wound up as designs on T-shirts, tambourines, jewelry, and recycled gypsy dry goods.  Best known for their "Gypsy Soul" and "Texas Born & Raised" designs, the family expresses their wild-at-heart souls creating whatever inspires them at the moment.

Boho Circus is the bohemian line of apparel and goods created under the family's company called "A Rosy Outlook."  Bren believes that everyone deserves a rosy outlook, so giving back is an essential aspect of the company's mission.  A portion of every purchase is contributed to Austin Pets Alive, The Houston Ballet, The National Parks Conservation Association, CASA, and many smaller, but worthwhile, organizations.

When I asked the ladies about inspiration and what inspired them and their designs they responded in email with;

" Inspiration is sometimes hard to define.  It can be a cactus bloom we notice on a hike, or a lyric to a song, or a feeling of driving down the highway chasing the sunset.  We believe that if we keep our mind, soul, and eyes open we can find inspiration everywhere.

Traveling is possibly the most inspiring outlet for us- a trip to Mexico, Spain, Italy or just down the road to Marfa, Texas can inspire a new design.  Most recently, we have found inspiration on the road in the Pacific Northwest; road tripping and camping out of a VW camper from the California Redwoods to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver Island.

Throughout the past decade of being in business, we have kept out brand genuine by staying true to our high standards in quality and service.  Unless we would buy it ourselves, we don't offer it.  Some of our products have come about because of projects that we make for ourselves.  For instance, I (Chyna) created a dog bed out of a vintage Kantha quilt as a birthday gift for my mom.  When she saw it she said, "We have to make these for Boho Circus!!"  This is just one example of the many ideas that have organically come about."
