My Favorite brand denim shorts

Summer is almost here and for us South floridians it is basically summer here . The temperatures are already in the 80-90's daily and I have been wearing my shorts and tank tops pretty much daily. I have a few brands I have loved for many years. Miss Me and Silver denim are two of my favorites. I also love True Religion, Seven, Hudson, Lucky Brand, Rock Revival, Rag & Bone and many others. If you want some extra bling Miss Me is perfect. If you are looking for an excellent fit I love the way True Religion and Silver jeans look. The stitching and pocket placement is amazing. All these brands keep their shape throughout the day and don't get that stretched out look after several hours of wearing. I like when my jeans have a little stretch to them but not a lot. 

I will have several reviews coming up of not just brands, but cut, stitching, styles and shades. By the end of my reviews you should be able to find yourself the perfect pair of shorts for the summer, not just fit but I will go over the different cuts and what styles look best on which body types. My first review will be on boyfriend style denim shorts. Miss Me frayed stretch denim from Buckle.com $82.99

Above are the first pair I will be reviewing from BKE and they are the BKE Black boyfriend shorts from Buckle. They retail for $72.95. I got mine at half off and had to try a pair since I had read so many reviews comparing them to Moss Me, and Big Star denim which are two of the brands I own a lot of shorts and jeans from.  Boyfriend shorts are tricky to find the right fit and I don't recommend ordering them online because they are meant to fit baggy and they run all kinds of different ways when it comes to sizing. I have one pair that is a size 3 and have a pair that are a size 9/10. This brand I ordered a 28 waist and it was huge. Also the boyfriend style doesn't look good on all body types. Target black comfy styles for Spring

Last week scooped up a couple cute items at Target while shopping for home decor and groceries. Also was preparing for Valentine's day party at my little one's school. Grabbed cute valentines cards, candies and popcorn, along with a cute Hallmark Piglet Cupid and some goodies for my girls. 

I always go to Target for house hold items but can't help but walk through the apparel department. They had some amazing clearance deals but I am stocked up for winter and grabbed a few items the weeks before, I did find a couple cute tanks and tees on sale in basic solids or stripes but my favorite items were some new Mossimo items they had out. 

I posted a little while back a cute romper I grabbed in yellow and spring shades with a yellow cardigan, but I was drawn to a few black staple items for my wardrobe. I recently have been cleaning my closet and had to donate some items that are now to large for me. I needed a new long black and white maxi skirt, found the perfect one with a great slit up the front on one side by Mossimo. I also got a cute zip up black vest, black jogging style loose fit pants and an adorable black tank style romper. 

This is the cute romper I wore Friday afternoon with a black and white printed sweater cardigan.

Cute Mossimo black, zip up vest with side zip pocket. Fitted and super cute, found some matching black jogging style, loose fit pants that are so comfy I couldn't pass them up. I have a few pairs of jogging sweats for home wear but these are made for wearing out and about but still so cozy. 

Vest and jogging pants together from this weekend. Ended up pairing with a gray tank versus the black I was wearing in the photo. The charcoal gray broke up the black on black plus I don't like when my blacks don't match exact. The pants match the vest perfectly. I believe they are meant to be worn together. 

Super cute black and white striped maxi skirt, with a slit on front side. Love this skirt fits amazing and hits at the perfect length. I am always having issues with length and I am not short. I am 5'8 but depending on brands I either have them to long or to short. This skirt and the romper are perfect length. 

Once again Target hits a home run and trust me they had many other super cute new styles in store but promised myself I would not be buying any more clothing till I finish cleaning out my closet lol. Spray paint and regular paint is amazing for refreshing your home for spring, to add some pops of color without having to repurchase all new items.
