This teak stool is perfect in the shower for products, to use when shaving or for even a plant or candle. I move it sometimes to the bath tub for a candle and glass.

Summer ending hello September

 Hey there friends, I’m so sorry for the delay. When we planned our summer trip that had been originally planned for summer 2020 but Covid restrictions, lockdowns we put it off and so glad we did. Originally I planned to take off the 2 weeks of the trip and then be back on the gram and my social accounts after July 4, but then life happened and my hubby had surgery so everything changed. I decided to spend this time with my youngest daughter who was home and enjoy that quality time, all while taking care of my husband who couldn’t lift anything or drive for weeks. Sadly I got behind on all my ideas for a trip and travel post, fashion for summer sharing, decor and outdoor fun summer decor, I just had a lot of plans. I had decided I wanted to not rebrand but change up some of the style of my videos and reels as well as sharing lifestyle content not just fashion or just home decor. 

I’m passionate about home decor, architecture, furniture, textiles, and all things homes. I over the years have considered getting into real estate or flipping houses but in the end that isn’t what I truly enjoy, I enjoy designing a homes exterior, interior, spaces and rooms, or renovating a home. Just the entire process and flipping would probably be great but the market has been crazy for a little while here where we live. We have been looking for our forever home here in this state until my hubby retires and we consider leaving the state or downsizing even more. We want land, a driveway for 4-5 cars comfortably, 3-4 car garage, one story, pool and I would love to have a pond or even a guest house or smaller detached home for my oldest daughter. It just is crazy how much the homes have gone up in 2-3 years when you find a home you like and it needs work, example they bought paid 250k for it 3 years ago and didn’t do alot of work to it but want $6-700K now. Needless to say I can’t do it and I believe when it’s meant to be or right you know it, it all falls into place. For now we are always actively looking and going to new areas to explore. 

So before I get off topic totally lol, I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for being patient. I’m ready for ending this year with a lot of new content. I am feeling amazing, better than I have in a couple of years. I started walking and have lost weight, increased my energy. Being over 40 and in the start of menopause is not easy then I also have auto immune issues so I had lots of inflammation. Thanks to some supplements and my drive to feel great I lost the weight I had gained the year and a half and now I’m working on the last 15-20 lbs. 

I’m excited to bring you guys lots of fun fashion content from try on clips, deals and designer finds, fashion trends and faves, it bags, fave shoes from dressier heels, sandals and sneakers. I have a lot to share cause I have always loved fashion. I want to share beauty, health, skincare, over 40 makeup finds, magic serums and treatments to keep yourself feeling youthful. I know aging has been hard for me, when I turned 40 I felt great and was in great shape but sometime after 43 I started to feel tired, brain fog, body aches, digestion issues, weight gain, skin changes, inflammation, and memory issues. I wanted to get on top of all of this now and get into the best shape of my life. I started with lab work, scans, and dr stuff first, my diet isn’t bad just made it where I don’t eat after 5-6 pm, then increased my water which I’m always working on being better about getting enough water. Walking has been huge, it has helped my mood, mental health, physical health and my fatigue is less. I’m excited to start weight and gym workouts to tone more. Then also over 40 it can be hard to find clothes you feel good in, that aren’t too short or skimpy but I also have always dressed different a little boho, meets rock n roll, art teacher vibes lol. I also have not had dyed fun colorful hair since I had the rainbow hair for a year and the blonde rainbow Amber the year prior, I did the blue tones after the rainbow and wanted to let that grow out versus bleach cause I like to keep my hair healthy, if  you have ever been blonde I’m sure you know how damaging the bleaching can be. After 2 years this October of growing it out I finally added some low lights in of my natural color underneath and throughout so my hair isn’t just a bleached white canvas. I like dimension and contrast. 

I got into rambling lol, thank you all for your support and tomorrow I will have a couple posts to catch up. Then I hope to get my travel tips and guide for our west coast adventure up before the end of the month. 2023 was the best summer yet, and our west coast Vegas, Joshua tree, Arizona, Sedona, Grand Canyon and southern Utah trip was the best trip ever. Excited for our future trips. Off to bed but wanted to get a quick update post on before I share my content I’m catching up on… missed everyone and get ready to see more of me and my projects, style, decor etc..

West coast travels

 Hey friends, happy summer break… I’m currently on our summer trip and enjoying this fun little desert west coast road trip. I have always wanted to visit Joshua Tree, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Moab, Zion and some other Utah spots. 

We did a good mix of traveling from flying and rentals, hiking and guided tours in a Jeep, Land Cruiser, then took lots of pics. We stayed mostly in Aur Bnb rentals cause it’s 4 of us, and we like to have a kitchen( laundry and privacy, we did however stay in hotels for one night stays, also we’re sure to dine out trying local faves and yelp reviewed spots, I will have a blog post broken down from flying, rental car, travel packing tips, what to bring for desert hiking and outdoor activities, then I will break down each area by state or park( include places to stay, eat, shop, and lots of nature trails, lookouts etc .  We flew into Las Vegas so I will have some fun Vegas adventures also.

New Year New Me started down 12 lbs

 Hey there friends. Happy new year, I know I’m a little behind but been so hectic starting out my new year I always have to do zoom meetings with brands I work with then try to connect with new brands. One huge end of year accomplishment for me was hitting 100K followers on IG. I try not to pressure myself with numbers but I finally did it it’s been almost a decade and seen so many new accounts come and get to 100K in a few months to a year, it’s hard but comparison is the thief of joy so I never like to compare myself or my social accounts.  I just had an amazing year the best income I have made doing this and Pinterest was my go to. It’s been so amazing and I feel so blessed. I work super hard and it’s been paying off.

So I’m on here to share my health and fitness journey, I decided for the new year it was time to start to focus more on myself. Being a mom I have focused so much on my kids and the family I let myself kind of fall to the side. I started a healthier lifestyle I am not one who eats a lot or is into sugar or fatty food but being 45 it’s been harder to lose weight and I have been so tired my nervy levels have been lower then ever. I started the second week of the month and it’s been 3 weeks I’m down 12 lbs yes you read that right twelve pounds in 3 weeks. I am someone who drank soda it is my only vice and I have cut it back and almost out, also I drink more water and I fast only eating from 11-5. I then started walking everyday, I started small and did two laps around my block, then moved to 5K steps then 10K steps now I do 5-7 laps around the lake plus walking to my house from that area usually 10-15K steps and fast walking or king jogging. 

I also had a friend on IG that sells plexus and sent me the triplex with their pink drink prebiotic hunger controlling drink, bio cleanse and probiotic, I highly recommend these products they have helped me with inflammation, gut health and cutting back on the soda. Magical Holiday light display and porch decor

 Hello, today I’m going to share with you my magical yard display of lights and inflatables, then our red and green classic Christmas porch decor, all thanks to Old Time pottery.

I always love to visit Old Time Pottery every season or holiday for new decor at affordable prices. I was so excited to get some new decor for our front yard. The way our home is built lights only really are easy to put up only on the front peak above the porch of our home. The second levels and transom is very high and then just not practical, as great as it would look we have gotten a few quotes and it would cost 2-3k. We usually put lights up on the first level but this year my husband has been super busy working due to the two hurricanes in 5/6 weeks that hit this area. Instead I decided this year I was going to decorate myself and keep it affordable but simple. 

I created a list of items I needed. From prior years I had a few items already on hand but knew I wanted to change up a few things to make it easier since my hubby wouldn’t be able to help. Since I was a little girl I have always decorated out palm trees with white lights wrapped around the lower base of the palm tree then I would use strands of green lights and green zip ties to wrap each palm frond giving it a beautiful look,  Last year my youngest daughter helped me and it was a lot of work just the two of us and I’m afraid of heights so a ladder isn’t my fave. This year I decided to use green spot lights which I found a spotlight with 4 colors red green blue and white at Old Time Pottery, I purchased two of these, then I also got 1 40ft green extension chord, 1 25ft green extension chord with 3 plugs, 4 10 ft extension chords along with the plug for the main outdoor outlet that has 2-3 plugs for the chords and a timer, remote or  Dusk to Dawn setting. These make it much easier for your outdoor lights I forget to turn off so have a timer set or can just use the remote control. I wish I had gotten 4 spotlights cause I love the look of the spotlight shining up at the fronds but for now live how it turned out. 

I also picked up a light up Snoopy, 2 outdoor decorative pillows, 2 wreaths and red ribbons, 2 battery operated strands of timer controlled twinkle lights for the wreaths, window or glass suction cups, decorative rug, black pottery planters to match, faux poinsettia plant and combined with some items I had from fall like my solar powered lantern style light by front door.  I purchased the gingerbread inflatable and the Christmas tree with Santa and presents both from Old Time Pottery the prices were so good and they were so fun. 

It took me about 2 hours to set up the decor and lights but I will say it is truly magical every night getting to sit outside and enjoy them or hear the smaller kids when they walk by with their parents. In our county where we live they have a holiday homes light list and we have a home on our street on the list so we get lots of traffic on our street so it’s always nice to see how many others get to enjoy our fun lights. I would sure love to go all out like my father always did or Clark Griswald lol from Christmas Vacation, but for this year being done by myself I think I achieved a great look and at a great price. I love too I was able to get the chords and remote control timer plugs so got years to come I can use those to grow my light show.

Winter holiday bedding

Hey friends happy almost thanksgiving. I wanted to share some winter and holiday bedding in this post along with a link to my LTK page . With Black Friday and everyone getting ready for Christmas whether it’s shopping for presents or holiday home decor I wanted to share all my faves. As you can see this has a very festive feel. It is a quilt set with two shams then I got a set of plaid euro shams for the larger back pillows. I kept my cream tone sheets from Walmart then added some Levtex decorative pillows. They also sent over a matching throw I use in a basket under the window with a boho textured cream pillow but love the reversible plaid to folk deer print. 

Next up is my master bedroom, I change up the bedding in these two rooms often I would in my girls bedrooms but they don’t like me taking tons of photos of their personal spaces and sharing so I do it less so I don’t have to take down photos, and change it up.  This is easier for me my bedroom I have photos but most are on my dresser then the guest room is pretty easy to change up. I painted the walls very neutral and keep the room simple for this very reason. 

My bedroom is more of a cozy winter theme than the festive deer and Christmas vibe of the guest room. I love texture and layering for design on beds, tables, sofas and even using rugs, textiles are my fave as a designer so the bedding is a go to for me. I picked out this silver grey velvet quilt set, layering over my duvet for warmth and then faux fur euro and king shams. Levtex home has some amazing accents for pillows and blankets as well. I love the velvet quilt the texture is soft and the design is amazing adds extra dimension to the room. The faux fur shams and throw give a warm cozy vibe perfect for winter and cuddle season… 

Love the Pom Pom details on the cuddle weather pillow and the snowflakes on the decorative accent pillows I love they have a light tan tone to keep with the neutral boho style of the space. 

Many ask me about the bed and side tables, All my bedroom furniture was from Z Galleries. I have had my bed for 15 years almost and when we moved into this house we got the empire dresser and two large night tables. I have since gotten two larger chests for the room in natural wood tone with some dimension in the design using slates on the front of the drawers. I’m obsessed they are made by ART furniture and from City Furniture.  I also recently shared on IG I got to pick out a new bed, it was hard cause I love my bed but wanted something more durable and not as light in color, then just to change it up since I have had it so long. My new bed is still same style has nail head trim details with a natural curve to it then the fabric is a darker tone gray linen fabric where the bed we have now is almost white, Bella gray and velvet so everything sticks to it and can be a pain to clean.
