Affordable Fall Home Decor Ideas

Happy Fall Y'all

It is official today is the first day of October and even though it still feels like summer where I live and will continue to feel this way pretty much the rest of the year, except for the occasional cool front, it is fall.  Usually I go all out for every holiday and season decorating, ever since we got our first apartment over twenty years ago I have loved to go over the top for the holidays.  As I have gotten older and my kids have aged I am slowly getting less and less into decorating every space of the home, and sticking to the entry, and family room with the occasional decor accents in the kitchen or dining room.  Christmas is the only holiday I still enjoy going all out for.  I still decorate and to some it may be going all out but to me it is a lot less then we are use to.

I started off the season already changing all the plug in heated scent warmers, candles and hand soaps to fall scents, my front entry outside has a fall welcome mat and Halloween witch themed wreath that I made a few years ago.  My indoor entry way is all decorated and decided instead of pulling all the ghosts and goblins of Halloween pasts, I would just take a gift Target gift card I had for $100 and grad a few items to give the house a warm and cozy fall fell without going to over the top.  Below are some of my favorite items with links, and then I will high light the items I used myself.  Enjoy and hope where ever you live you get to enjoy that crisp fall air and the beauty of the leaves changing.  I know I look forward to seeing all the photos from my friends and family that live up north as well as from my Instagram and social media friends posts.  Happy Fall Y'all and hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween also. Happy Halloween Sign $5

Hung this sign above my stove in my kitchen, we have always had a witch theme in the kitchen so it fits in perfect with my witches menu on the counter.

Mesh Lace Mantle Decor $9.99

I have something very similar to this I have had for years that I purchased at Party City along with a matching table cloth for my dining room table.  Love the touch it adds.

Halloween Black Gauze Fabric for Mantle or Table $2.99

A less expensive option if you want to dress up your mantle or entry table, these come in black, gray and white.  They really do add just that little something to put your decor on and have that festive feel.

Grabbed two of these thought they went great with the black and gold decor accents I got for my buffet in dining room.

I have a different banner then this for my entry I got at Joanne's fabric and then grabbed a white and burlap one I could not find from Target this year for Fall.

I got one of these and have a pretty small succulent in it for the ottoman in living room then some small pumpkins around it.

Acorn Garland

Was unable to find the lights I got off one of the end caps in the decor section, but these are a little similar.  I got white and tan acorn looking lights along with a tan and white Hello Fall banner.  Both match and are made by the same company will have to pull out the boxes from the storage bin to get the names.  The lights were $9.99 and the banner $4-5.99.

Just adding some fall throws and pillows with a mix of textures, patterns and colors will warm up the space and make it feel cozy.  I went with a plaid gray, orange and white throw, then a white and orange knit throw, with two cable knit pillows one in gray and then one in orange, with a plaid pillow.  Made the room feel so warm and cozy, along with bringing that fall feel without pushing to much decor.  XOXO

Kirklands addict

Everyone who reads my blog by now knows I own a part/event planning and interior design business, make cakes and dessert as well as home decor like wreaths, floral pieces, candle holders etc. I am always asked about my favorite stores. I give a lot of shout outs to homegoods, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, home decorator's collection but one that is my all time favorite is Kirklands!

I even have an app on my iPhone for spin to win for daily chances to spin and win coupons lol. I would take hours to go over every item I own from kirklands but decided to post some of my most recent purchases alone with some of my older items that are holiday decor.

I love owls and have bought every owl item I own from there. I got the entire set of their owl kitchen collection from chair covers, pot holders, spoon rest, bowls, mugs, towels and more. Check out the photos. I also got some mirrored silver stuff for my bedroom I am still working on. My home always falls second to my work for clients but I must say I am getting close to be done.

I will be posting more photos soon of each room of my home from bathrooms to entry, bedrooms and living areas. Even my outdoor spaces cause I don't leave any area untouched. With my girls home for te summer I focus on quality time at the beach or just relaxing with them so I got behind but my favorite time of year is coming the holidays! I will have lots of holiday decor ideas along with my wreaths and decor I sell. Once the holidays pass I will post all the photos of my home. I do every room a different theme but everything blends and flows amazing. I love color so lots of different colors and a lot of different types of accents. I love Asian and Moroccan themed decor so you see a lot of that in my own home design.

Here are my recent Kirkland finds. I hope to one day get asked to sample and review an item from them, then get a gift card to give away to my blog readers like I have seen on other blogs but it's a dream for now lol. The one mirror I got which is a 16x16 geometric mirror plaque I am still desperately looking for one more I want two for each side of the mirrored photo frame for above my bed been to two stores found one more but someone has broken it:(. If anyone can find one in south Florida let me know where I need one bad it doesn't have to be the same there were three types and any one is fine I like when things don't match lol.
