Budget refresh’s & Fall decor 20

Entryway after we refreshed it some. Added some brown leather accents for fall.

Board and batten is a easy inexpensive diy to add character to your home. We had the wood and paint so was a free project for us. Love it

I made this beaded garland using beads I have for other garlands I have made for different seasonal decor and then added this macrame leaf or feather that came with my macrame piece I ordered back in April or early May that arrived in July due to Covid delays from Russia.

Excited with it being my birthday month and with the end of the month leading us into fall. I’m happy my girls are both doing virtual and online classes for the fall semester. I have to say one amazing thing has come from the pandemic and that is quality family time. Being a stay at mom and having both my girls home has been a true blessing. Of course I wish the circumstances were different and of course that Covid wasn’t the reason behind us getting that quality time, but this mama truly has loved every moment I have gotten to spend with them since March. We have made some amazing memories and gotten so much needed quality time. With my oldest being a junior in college my heart has been heavy missing her and counting down the days to her graduation from college. I couldn’t be prouder of her but what mama doesn’t miss her child when they are away from home, even if her baby is almost 21.

Now on to my reason for writing this post. Normally with instagram collaborations and projects I start my decor for every season so early. Lately I have turned down a lot of different opportunities to spend more time with my girls, but also so I could get some projects I have had on our to do list crossed off. I’m excited to say that my list went from very long to only a few last minute things like touch up paint, painting the inside of the interior doors because I painted the exterior of most of them leaving the inside of the doors that you can’t see really white. This week I plan to finish that out and then we have some trim work to finish up, craftsman style molding around our pass ways into the kitchen dining space and then a few smaller things like finishing my oldest daughter’s bedroom refresh then little organizing things. We have done a lot this summer from landscaping, changing out mulch for rocks, adding landscape lighting, installing a vinyl privacy fence, adding on a concrete slab extension to our patio and a few more fun outdoor projects I can’t wait to share. I also have been able to on a limited budget because we have travel plans and other things in the works right now so I didn’t want to break the bank. Also with Covid I enjoy having our savings account healthy so I decided to opt out of my normal splurges for material things which to me aren’t necessities and do more diy stuff, get creative as well as using stuff we had already.

We did the refresh of our entryway and formal dining room, adding some board and batten to a few walls, changing out my old decor for more modern and global bohemian pieces that I love that I know will be with us for years to come. I have stopped myself from buying things simply because they are on sale or because they are trendy. I want pieces I love and that are more neutral that will go with my style as well as remain in our home for years to come.. below are a few quick updates pictures of the formal dining room. Now I will be slowly bringing in the fall touches and wanted to share my inspiration mood boards for the colors and decor accents I’m working on adding this fall.  Above the images are of the refresh’s I did all on a limited budget, using mostly items I found at Goodwill or that we may have had, with the exception of a few new additions or collaboration pieces.

Probably will take down the layering plaid sign from behind the new leaf fall decor. Then will slowly decide which pieces I like the best here. The basket is from hobby lobby was only $3-4 on clearance going to add more filler and maybe another stem..

This was my color and inspiration board in July for upcoming fall decor. Joann’s fabric and Target are where I have picked up a few new items. Had the hops and some other Amber glass pieces from last fall so just added a few new pieces and loved the idea of adding brown leather...

My mantle is staying similar to last year. Added the glass pieces and hops from last year with popcorn kernels as filler which I feel adds those fall vibes along with some color and texture. The lanterns are for our outdoor patio waiting on the concrete, pergola, and then I will put them out there but for now like them here...

Here are a few fall inspiration pics and some of the decor I have started to play with. Next week I will have a lot more to share with y’all here as well as on my Instagram page. Be sure to keep an eye out. Going to cut this short since it is Saturday night and want to spend some time with my hubby since he just got home from working. Had an amazing day with my girls and we had lunch together this afternoon before my hubby had to work for the races but now he is home so off to spend some time with everyone but I will be back Monday with more fall decor to share. Also have my daughter’s bedroom refresh and excited for share her new mattress from Bed in a Box. Hope you are all having a great weekend. Peace love and light always
